Good Samaritans pin down enraged driver
Police say the enraged driver stabbed a man and then hit two other people with their own vehicles. Good Samaritans pinned him down until police arrived.
DALLAS - It was a wild scene Tuesday morning for commuters and construction workers in Northeast Dallas as a man with a knife terrorized drivers on Interstate 635.
Some people who saw it captured video of the arrest after a series of assaults.
Dallas police said it all started around 7:15 a.m. on westbound I-635 between the Greenville Avenue and Forest Lane exits.
An enraged driver, later identified as 26-year-old Angel Moreno, went on the attack with his car, a knife, and other vehicles.
Multiple people were injured, including one victim who was stabbed while trying to confront Moreno.

According to Dallas police, Moreno was involved in a multi-vehicle crash. He then started fighting with one of the other drivers.
A third driver tried to stop the fight but was stabbed by Moreno.

Police say several people were injured by the suspect, including one of the victims who was reportedly stabbed while trying to confront the man.
A Texas Department of Transportation employee who was working in the area saw what was happening and ran to help.
That’s when police said Moreno got into the TxDOT vehicle and hit the employee before crashing.
Then, another driver stopped to help after seeing the TxDOT employee get hit. Moreno got into that driver’s vehicle as well and hit them with their car.

Several people were taken to the hospital after a bizarre incident involving a multi-vehicle crash, a stabbing, and a chase on the LBJ Freeway. Part of it was captured on video.
As traffic came to a standstill Tuesday morning, Sameer Sethi swerved to avoid Moreno. He said he saw the whole thing play out.
"There was a car accident. These two guys get out. They are having an altercation. One guy in particular who pulls out a knife later on was being more aggressive," he recalled. "They were going back and forth. This dude stabs a first guy. He is on the floor, and he’s screaming and yelling for help.
Sethi said multiple cars pulled over as Moreno became even more violent, pushing people and bashing in windows.
Then, Moreno came in Sethi’s direction, hopping on a dark-colored vehicle next to him.

"Basically, then carjacking the car behind it," he recalled. "The lady before he gets to the door speeds off, and he rolls off the car. That’s when I was able to pull out my phone."
Sethi saw an opening and took off in his car.
Cell phone video shared to the Dallas Texas TV’s Instagram page shows the TxDOT driver trying to stop Moreno. The TxDOT driver got hit before running to safety.
In a different video, a woman is seen running as the suspect appears to chase her in her own car. She was hit, too.
Several people were finally able to pin Moreno down and hold him until Dallas police officers arrived.
Dallas police took Moreno into custody as Dallas Fire-Rescue treated and transported the three victims to the hospital.

Four people were ultimately taken to the hospital, including Moreno.
Police said the stabbing victim is in critical condition. Sethi recalled seeing the man was bleeding from his torso.
The TxDOT employee and the second driver who was hit were taken to the hospital and are said to be stable.
Moreno was hospitalized as a precaution and later booked into jail.
He is now charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and one count of criminal mischief. His mugshot was not immediately available.
DPD is asking anyone who may have cell phone video of the incident to contact them.
All lanes of westbound I-635 were shut down initially because of the chaos. The freeway has since reopened.
